Once again, for the third year, the Monson Arts Council will be offering a prize for the “Monson Shines” Christmas decorating contest. The category which we will offer, and judge, is “Most Artistic”, with a first prize award of $50. Judging the winner will be Allyssa Grinnell of the MAC board, together with friends of her choosing. Last year the judges were David Dupuis and Jessica Lister, who put in a long night visiting all the participating houses. They had a blast! This will be one of seven categories for which prizes will be awarded, the categories still to be announced. For participants in the contest, registration is now open, but will close soon: December 17. There is no charge to participate, but you must register to have your house put on the map. Judging will take place during the week before Christmas, 12/19 – 12/24.
The Monson Arts Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is “To discover, promote and sustain an appreciation of and an involvement in art and culture in Monson.” It is run by a volunteer Board of Directors who serve three year terms, and who each year elect a slate of officers for the coming year.
