The Monson Arts Council Spring Arts Show for 2023 is just around the corner, with an opening and reception on April 15, and a run of three successive weekends. The artists have all submitted their works, the judges have made their choices, the accepted work has been dropped off at the House of Art, ready to be hung. There are 82 artists in the show, with a total of 123 works available to view, divided between the two show venues: The House of Art and Memorial Hall. The show will be the first in which two venues have been used.
In order to prepare Memorial Hall as a exhibition space, the council has acquired two systems of display panels which will be erected in the main auditorium. One system, composed of doors in fixed arrangements, is a gift from Workshop 13 in Ware, for which we thank them profusely. A second system based on hardboard panels in frames, created by Reed Coles, will double the available hanging space.
The show will be open from noon to 5 pm on each of the three weekends of its run: the weekends of April 15-16, April 22-23, and April 29-30. There will be a reception with artists present of April 15, which will take place simultaneously at both venues. The prize-winning works will be identified by label, and will also be found in both venues.
The arts council invites you to join us for the show!
