As you can see, everything has changed! The Monson Arts Council is introducing its new blog-based website, and we hope you like it. The main features:
There are fewer tabs. Many of the tabs which were virtually dormant on the old website have been eliminated, leaving only the most important ones for constant information. Fresh information will be available on the home page through our principal blog (this one!) “WHAT’S HAPPENING?” The most recent post will be visible on the home page, while earlier posts can be found by searching the archives.
Blog posts for all blogs will be rotated frequently, with posts replaced after two weeks. Thus, what you find on the home page will be fresh. It will be worth your while to visit the site regularly.
In addition to the main series, there will be at least two more blog series beginning immediately, both authored by our president, Peter Barnett. “Plein Aire Tips” will be a practical discussion of plain aire landscape painting as he has practiced it for a half century. “Image and Meaning” will be a series of comparisons of masterpieces from Western Art with commentary based on his years as an art historian. We expect additional series to be added as we move forward.
A new enhanced event calendar is being included which will not be limited to events of the arts council, but instead will contain arts-related events from the wider valley. It is hoped that this will become a go-to source for what is happening in the arts in our area.
Please let us know what you think!
