The 45th Annual Craft Fair will be presented by the Monson Arts Council on the weekend after Thanksgiving. The craft fair will be open to the public at no charge on Saturday November 30th from 9 am until 4 pm, and on Sunday December 1st from 11:30 am to 4 pm. More than sixty crafters will be showing their work in four buildings in downtown Monson within easy walking distance of each other. The buildings are Memorial Hall, the House of Art, and the Methodist and Universalist churches. This event has been a major draw for visitors from Monson and the surrounding towns.
The Craft Fair will again feature a carol sing on the Memorial Hall steps at 4 pm on Saturday put on the by Girl Scouts. The carol sing will be open to any and all who wish to join. It will be followed by the arrival of Santa Claus by fire engine. The Fire Department will be offering refreshments and children can visit Santa in the fire department after the carol sing.

Monson Arts Council 45 th Annual Craft Fair
Dear Crafter:
The purpose of this letter is to confirm your participation and update you on our 45th Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Set-up day is Friday, November 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Fair opens Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m. We have expanded the Christmas Carol sing in front of Memorial Hall at 4:00 to be town wide, so we will be closing at 4 to allow the carolers to occupy the space in front of the building.
On Sunday the Fair opens at 11:30 am and runs until 4:00 p.m.
It is a requirement that your booth be open to the public during the entire time listed above.
Wendy Murakami, as Craft Fair Coordinator, will rotate between all buildings during set up and when the fair is open. Wendy is available as needed by phone or text during this time, 413-896-8666. In addition there will be other craft fair committee members and volunteers present in the buildings to answer any questions you might have. If you arrive and your building is not open, please call Wendy or come to Memorial Hall to find me.
In addition, during the Fair, we will have committee members rotating among the buildings, but please call Wendy if you have any issues. Please adhere to the borders of your booth to prevent encroachment into your neighbor’s booth space. .
Please remember that one of the things that separates this Fair from many others is the requirement that all items being sold be hand crafted by the crafter. We ask that each of you be certain that you only display those items that meet this requirement. If any item comes under question, the judgment of the Craft Fair Committee shall prevail.
Crafters in Memorial Hall and House of Art. There is NO parking on the access road between the 2 buildings. This is a fire lane for the Fire Department. You must unload from Main Street in front of the buildings or pull all the way down into the parking lot behind the buildings. Also, please be mindful of the Town of Monson regulations and that NO ONE is allowed to enter the MH basement or the upstairs balcony during the Craft Fair. No wall hangings or signs are allowed on the walls of the building.
Crafters in the House of Art – The 2nd floor remains closed due to a problem with the fire escape. This includes the bathroom. Unfortunately you will need to travel to Memorial Hall to use the facilities there. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Crafters in UU Church-We have asked the church to have the floors and bathroom cleaned prior to the Craft Fair. The committee will check on the bathroom supplies and its condition daily while the craft fair is ongoing. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to call Wendy if there is any problem.
Also attached to this email is a copy of the 2024 poster. Please print it out or post to your social media account to help us advertise our fair.
Press releases are being sent to newspapers, radio, and television stations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. In addition, a full color Holiday Craft Ad will be included in the newspapers, the MAC Holiday Craft Fair Banner will be installed and the flyer will be posted around town and on our MAC social media site.
If an emergency prevents your participation, please notify me at once, and please do not offer your space to anyone else, as we reserve the right to screen all applicants.
