Kara Bigda graduated from Amherst College with a fine arts degree in 1991 and has worked in education, the insurance industry and manufacturing. In 2008, after 10 years of employment as an art teacher in the Quabbin Regional School District, Kara resigned from teaching in order to focus her time on painting. After experimenting with acrylics, design, collage and printmaking, she committed herself to watercolor in 2011 and has never veered.
Cathy Liontas currently resides in Milford CT. She has an SCSU, Masters Degree in Art Education and has studied at the Art Students League, NYC, Lyme Art Association, Lyme, CT, Silvermine Academy of Fine Art, Darian, CT and the Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven, CT. I am an impressionistic realist painter. I try to capture the reality of a subjct in as simple a way as possible, leaving the viewer to engage in a conversation with the piece.
Eli Yung is the Interim Curator of the Fitchburg Art Museum. Her curatorial work reflects an abiding interest in creative practices that explore gender performance and Queer representation. She earned her MA in American Studies from Brown University, specializing in the politics of preservation and the intersection of art and activism. Eli received her BA in English and History from Trinity University after completing a year of study at the University of Oxford. Her previous experience includes work at the National Museum of American History in DC, the John Hay Library in Rhode Island, and Coates Library in Texas.
