In recognition of his exemplary service to the town of Monson in community theatre, the Monson Arts Council is pleased to announce that Rich Dionne is the 2023 recipient of “A Feather In Your Cap Award.” This award is given to a member of the local arts community who has made significant contributions to theatre in Monson. It is named after the very first musical presented by MAC, “A Feather In Her Cap” written by Phyllis Hull.
Rich’s unwavering commitment to the Monson Arts Council has spanned decades, with his involvement dating back to the early 1990s. Over the years, he has been an indispensable asset, providing his expertise in lighting, sound, and set design for numerous MAC productions. When asked about his involvement, Rich Dionne said, “Since the early 1990s, I’ve been doing lights, sound, and sets for pretty much every show.” His dedication and versatile talents have played a pivotal role in the success of MAC’s theatrical endeavors.
The award was presented to Rich Dionne before the Friday, October 27th, 2023 performance of
“The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie,
The Monson Arts Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is “To discover, promote and sustain an appreciation of and an involvement in art and culture in Monson.” It is run by a volunteer Board of Directors who serve three year terms, and who each year elect a slate of officers for the coming year.
