A concert by the Old Post Road Orchestra
On June 16 at 7:30 pm the Old Post Road Orchestra will perform a concert in Memorial Hall at 198 Main Street in Monson. The concert is billed as “Tales as Olde as time”, and will feature animated Film music, including Disney, classic Looney Tunes and Studio Ghibli.
This is the second year of a very fruitful collaboration between the OPRO and the Monson Arts Council to stage a concert in Memorial Hall. Last year’s concert was a great success, and is hoped to become an annual tradition. In addition, this year’s program is sponsored in part by a grant from the Monson Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, as well as by a grant from the Town of Monson’s Regional Economic Development Organization Grant.
This year’s concert promises to be a delight for the whole family. The concert is free to the public.
The Monson Arts Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is “To discover, promote and sustain an appreciation of and an involvement in art and culture in Monson.” It is run by a volunteer Board of Directors who serve three year terms, and who each year elect a slate of officers for the coming year.
