The Monson Museum of Art, under the auspices of the Monson Arts Council, will be presenting a special fashion show, featuring authentic period fashions by Laura Asson. The tile of the show is “MMOA presents Tea and Fashion”, and it will take place at the House of Art on January 20 and 21, 2024. The show will be open to the public from 1:00 to 3:00 on each of the two days, with a $10 donation requested at the door.
There will be handmade period fashions on display. Laura Asson, a member of the museum committee of the arts council and a connoisseur of period fashion, will give a talk on fashion through the ages on each day of the show. Tea and cookies will be served as part of the event.
In conjunction with the show there will be a concurrent display of donated art work by local artists with a theme of “Impressions of Memorial Hall”. These works have been donated for auction as part of a special fundraiser to support the ongoing improvements to Memorial Hall, sponsored by the Memorial Hall Restoration Committee of the Town of Monson. The auction will take place at the Main Street Tavern on the evening of January 25, though bids will also be accepted at the weekend preview showing.
